What you pay directly

In addition to the management fee, you'll pay at-cost for these operational expenses. We pass them through with zero markup.

Direct costs (owner responsibility):

  • Maintenance and repairs
  • DTCM permit and registration fees

Questions to ask any STR manager

1. What's your all-in fee after add-ons?

Many managers quote a base fee but add listing fees, photography fees, booking fees, or guest communication charges. Always ask for the true total percentage you'll pay on every booking.

2. How do you handle maintenance markup?

Some managers mark up contractor costs by 10–20%. Shosty passes maintenance through at-cost — you see the invoice, you pay the invoice. No markup, no hidden profit.

3. What's your contract lock-in period?
